About the artwork
The Alchemist explores the process of becoming more fully yourself while navigating a rapidly changing world.
At the centre of the artwork is a fragmented figure positioned between two worlds. One draws from nature, craftsmanship and organic growth. The other transforms into technological structures and machine-like systems.
Rather than choosing between them, the figure uses the tension to look deeper within.
The original artwork was created over nearly three months of building up layers of texture, then gilded with 24-carat gold leaf.
The result is a work that invites reflection on value, self-authorship and the aspects of being human that cannot be quantified.
This limited edition is created in collaboration with leading British printmakers, using the latest technology that combines silkscreen printing, 3D printing and hand-applied imitation gold leaf. Only 40 prints are created for this black and gold edition.

A symbolic figure made up of royal medieval-inspired patterns, which appear to dissolve or glitch in places.

Raised gold detail
Advanced relief printing recreates the original embossed textures before being finished with imitation gold leaf by one of the UK's leading printmakers.
